Journeys has teamed up with a number of brands to spread the word of doing good. We don’t just see this as an issue of personal or corporate responsibility, we see it as an opportunity to make a life a little easier, a cure a little more accessible, a meal a little more affordable. Doing good feels good, which is what having an attitude that cares is all about.
To the left are some of the brands we feature that give back to the world we share. Click the logo to learn more about the cause and buy their product to lend a hand.
Get involved. Do good. It’s an attitude that cares.
Custom Culture
Vans Custom Culture x Journeys Local Attitude Award
We are excited to announce an important partnership with the Vans Custom Culture program. In it's third year, Custom Culture strives to promote creative self expression among high school students while also raising a platform to discuss the need for additional funding for US art education programs. This unique program inspires high school students across the United States to embrace their creativity and customize four pairs of blank Vans shoes in four themes: Art, Music, Action Sports and Local Flavor, in order to win a $50,000 donation to their school's art program.
For the first time ever, a partner has been invited to provide additional contributions to high school art programs in the form of an award for customizing the best local flavor themed shoe. At the final event in Los Angeles this May, Journeys representatives will be on hand to present one of the final five schools with the Journeys "Local Attitude Award" for their interpretation of the best local flavor themed shoe. This school will be awarded a $5,000 prize to be used toward their art program.
For more information and to register your school starting February 1st, 2012, head over to www.vans.com/customculture. Hurry, registration ends March 1st and only the first 1,000 US based high schools to successfully register will be eligible to receive shoes and participate in the competition.

TOMS Giving Stories
Aurelia, 11, from Rwanda

Aurelia is a bubbly and outgoing 11-year-old. She smiles wide and stands tall, despite being smaller than most of the other children. She and her best friend Francis received their second pair of new TOMS Shoes from Giving Partner World Vision in Rwanda. Both girls were so excited. She and Francis giggled and showed each other their new shoes. Aurelia took good care of her first pair of TOMS, keeping them in a box at night and making sure to dust them off every day. With the new pair of TOMS on her feet, she proudly shared, “I am happy to have a new pair of shoes! I will keep both pairs and use the new ones for special occasions, like school, and will use the old ones to play. Thank you! I love my shoes!”

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One(TM).
Five years later, TOMS realized this movement could serve other basic needs and launched TOMS Eyewear. With every pair purchased, TOMS will help give sight to a person in need. One for One(TM). As we learn that everyday choices have the power to impact the lives of those around the world, the TOMS movement will continue to grow and evolve. Join us at TOMS.com
Keep a Breast Foundation
The Keep A Breast Foundation™ is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to help eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support. Through art events, educational programs and fundraising efforts, we seek to increase breast cancer awareness among young people so they are better equipped to make choices and develop habits that will benefit their long-term health and well-being.
Earthkeepers
We call It Earthkeepers. It’s our most eco-minded collection of boots, clothes and gear. It’s also the philosophy that guides everything we do.
At Timberland, we’re all about getting outdoors. So, we try to create gear that’s easier on the environment. We’re not perfect but we strive to use natural or recycled materials and make all our gear in eco-conscious ways. In fact, we grade our selves by putting a Green Index rating on our footwear to reflect their environmental impact. 10 is bad. 1 is good.
We also think trees are important. After all, our name is Timberland and our logo is a tree. We’ve planted millions of trees around the world. And we’re still planting.
We’re Earthkeepers – doing what we can to keep the outdoors great – because if there’s no outdoors, you don’t really need us.”
Rocketown & Sixth Avenue
At Rocketown, we strive to share our core values of love and service through creative programs and mentoring relationships that are culturally relevant and eternally significant.
Rocketown serves youth primarily 12-20 years of age, of all races, religions and socio-economic backgrounds. We engage teens by attracting them to activities they enjoy. This leads to building personal relationships, fostering community among kids and staff, and helping to develop their purpose - all based on acceptance, inclusion and love. We are proud to partner with Journeys and Genesco to ensure that every kid in Middle Tennessee has a fun and safe place where they can hang out, enjoy a concert, skateboard and find creative ways to grow and express themselves.
Recently, employees from the Journeys corporate office visited Rocketown to spend time with kids in their after school programs. We split into four teams and played kickball, punked some chucks, participated in team building exercises and shared a meal together.
