Vans Sneakers and Clothing: "Off the Wall" Styles and Unique Accessories

Since 1966, Vans skate shoes have dominated the scene. From humble beginnings in Anaheim, California, Vans have taken over the world with comfortable and unique designs that are great for everything from skateboarding to just hanging out. No matter the occasion, Vans has a look for you. Grab some new Vans shoes and pair them with a hoodie or tee for a great look on the half-pipe, city sidewalk, or at the beach. Known and loved worldwide, the Vans look reminds fans of surfing or chilling in the California sun.

Where Can I Buy New Vans Shoes?
You can buy Vans online right here or you can visit any Journeys location in North America. Whether you're shopping online or in person, you'll find that our Vans selection is always stocked with the latest designs.

Who Created Vans Shoes?
Vans were originally created in 1966 by Paul and James Van Doren and Gordon Lee in Anaheim, California. The first Vans shoe store was called The Van Doren Rubber Company. It made a name for itself with a rugged shoe design called "The Authentic," which had a sticky sole that skaters loved. It wasn't long before customers could find a Vans store in locations all over California.

What Are the Different Types of Vans Shoes?
Vans come in many different styles, including the Classic Slip-On, Old Skool, Authentic, Era, MTE, Sk8 Hi, Slide-On Sandals, UltraRange sneakers, and fun collaborations. Vans are available in canvas and leather, and they're comfy enough to wear all day, whether you're headed to the skate park or a concert.

Do Vans Shoes Stretch?
Most Vans shoes are made of canvas, which will loosen up slightly with wear. A typical pair of Vans shoes may stretch an eighth of an inch or so.

Do Vans Go on Sale?
Yes. Our special offers change regularly. We may feature Vans Slip-Ons one week and Sk8 His the following week. Check back often for the latest deals!

Are Vans Gym Shoes?
We do not recommend wearing Vans during workouts.

Are Vans True to Size?
Most Vans shoes run true to size but may seem snug until they're broken in. If you're between sizes, we usually recommend sizing up for most styles. If in doubt, stop by your nearest Journeys store to try on a few pairs of Vans in person or use the True Fit tool to determine the best size for you.
